Members

The members are akin to the shareholders of a company. They have ultimate control over the academy trust, with the ability to appoint the Foundation Directors and the right to amend the trust’s articles of association. Within our Diocese the members are usually the Bishop and Diocesan Officers.

Bishop Mark Davies

The Right Reverend Mark Davies was born in Manchester on 12^th May 1959 and baptised at St Richard’s Church, Longsight.

Bishop Davies was educated at St Richard’s Infant School and St Robert’s Primary School in Manchester and at Broadstone Hall County Primary School and St Anne’s High School in Stockport before beginning his training for the priesthood at Ushaw College, Durham.

In December 2009 Pope Benedict XVI appointed Monsignor Davies as the Coadjutor Bishop of Shrewsbury. He was ordained Bishop on 22^nd February 2010 at St Anthony’s, Wythenshawe, Manchester. On 1^st October 2010 Bishop Davies became the 11th Bishop of Shrewsbury in succession to Bishop Brian Noble.

Canon David Roberts

David Roberts is a priest of the Diocese of Shrewsbury. He has been advisor and teacher of adult education from 2000-2012 and, since 2012, the Episcopal Vicar for Education. In addition, David is a parish priest in the Wirral.

Canon Michael Gannon

Michael Gannon is a priest of the Diocese of Shrewsbury.

Richard Woods

Richard is currently the Acting Director of Schools for the Shrewsbury Diocese. He has been involved in Catholic education for over a quarter of a century holding numerous posts including Head of Religious Education, Leadership Team member, Deputy Headteacher and more recently as a secondary Headteacher for ten years.
