Mike Fowler qualified as a public sector accountant in 1993 and spent 30 years in local government in various senior management roles including Assistant Director of Social Services and Assistant Director of Finance.

Mike then spent a few years in the charity sector as Executive Director of Finance helping to transform a young persons’ health charity and, for the last 5 years, has worked in the education sector as Finance Director.

He is experienced at undertaking strategic finance reviews of schools drawing upon his knowledge of public sector finances and DfE resources such as school workforce planning, schools financial efficiency metric tool, schools financial benchmarking service and deals for schools.

Marion Fletcher has worked in the education sector for over 35 years and has supported the leadership and management of schools in a HR capacity for more than 20 years. She is also an experienced governor having served on the governing bodies of St James’ High, Cheadle, St Benedict’s, Handforth and St Anthony’s, Wythenshawe.

Marion provides school-to school support services and can help leaders with disciplinary investigations, mediation, attendance management, grievance resolution and staffing restructures.

Peter Johnson was designated an LLE through Everyone Learning Teaching School Alliance, which is a collaborative partnership of 8 Teaching School Alliances across Greater Manchester. Peter has also worked as an Associate Headteacher in Tameside undertaking termly visits to schools and building excellent relationships with the Headteachers.

In addition, he has supported new and aspiring headteachers. Peter’s areas of expertise include: Assessment, attendance, band discipline, closing the gap, leadership of continuing professional development (CPLPD), leadership of curriculum & school-to-school support.

Dominic Hemington has developed a team of dynamic and highly skilled leaders at his school who have brought about sustained school improvement in a range of areas notably in Early Reading and Maths. The school is recognised as a fully trained ‘Ruth Miskin’ school, which has resulted in consistently excellent Y1 Phonics results which have been above the national average for the last 4 years.

As a result of this, the school was invited to organise and host a DfE Phonics Roadshow for the North of England in 2019. This event was very well received and many schools who were in attendance have subsequently approached our school for further support in how to lead and manage the development of effective phonics teaching within their own schools.

As well as supporting with Early Reading and Maths, Dominic is also able to support schools with managing pupil attendance having implemented systems at his own school which have resulted in absence and persistent absence being in the lowest 20% of all schools.

Lisa Kelly is an experienced Headteacher, who has also trained as a Denominational Inspector for the Diocese of Shrewsbury and is a mentor to new headteachers. In addition, she is the Chair of the Diocesan Association of Primary Headteachers. In terms of school-to-school support, she has undertaken a number of Executive Headships in schools which have encountered instability in leadership.

Abbie Burns has experience of working across mainstream primary, secondary and all age specialist provisions. After completing a psychology degree, Abbie has had a key interest in early intervention for Mental Health, and the roles that schools can effectively play in this. She has completed a Masters degree in Teaching and Learning – focusing on developing opportunities and closing the gaps.

In addition to her higher education qualifications, Abbie is trained in Mental Health first aid, a MAPA trainer (Management of Actual or Potential Aggression), an ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) facilitator and a parent group leader for the Family Links Nurturing programme and the Welcome to the World programmes.

Abbie has previously provided support via an SLE in Southampton and been asked by the Alliance for Learning trust to deliver regular training for trainee teachers. Her key specialisms focus on SEND, SEMH, the inclusion of vulnerable children, safeguarding and wellbeing/pastoral support.

Abbie also has experience of supporting both primary and secondary schools with developing their wider curriculum, parental engagement, collaborative community working and utilising staff skills and interests.
